To jeden z najpiękniejszych męskich głosów w reggae, choć w Polsce jeszcze mało znany. Jego zasięg głosu pozwala mu dotknąć wysokich tonów Al’a Green’a i głębokich barytonów Barry’ego White’a. Często porównywany był do Dennisa Browna, czy Luciano. Zaprezentuje swoje możliwości w edycji online festiwalu, w specjalnym koncercie.

Qshan Deya urodził się jako Kellis Quashie w Sugar Hill na maleńkiej karaibskiej wysepce Saint Vincent i Grenadyny. Jego kariera muzyczna rozpoczęła się w 1999 roku w Brooklynie w Nowym Jorku, gdzie nagrał swój pierwszy singiel zatytułowany „Journey”.

W 2001 roku ukazał się także jego debiutancki album pod tym samym tytułem, na którym zagrali z nim: Yami Bolo i Richie Spice. Później Qshan wyruszył w trasę po USA z rodziną Star Trail, gdzie otwierał koncerty dla Anthony’ego B.

Qshan Deya po raz pierwszy odwiedził Jamajkę 23 lipca 2002 roku, gdzie miał okazję spotkać się ze znanym producentem Bobby Digital, w wyniku czego powstał jego pierwszy przebój „Show Me The Love”.

Kierowany pasją do doskonałości w swoim rzemiośle, Qshan Deya podjął świadomą decyzję, by w 2010 roku ponownie udać się na Jamajkę, aby skorzystać ze źródeł leżących u podstaw przemysłu muzycznego reggae. Tam spotkał się z uznanym producentem muzycznym Garfieldem „Sampalue” Phillipsem z Diamond Rush Productions, który przyczynił się do założenia i rozwoju kariery Marion „Lady Saw” Hall jako jej menedżer i producent.

Szerzej zaistniał na Jamajce występując w Pepsi Rebel Salute 2011.

W tym samym roku Qshan Deya wziął udział w festiwalu JCDC, konkursie popularnych piosenek w Kingston na Jamajce. Zdobył w nim drugie miejsce, przechodząc do historii, jako pierwszy nie-jamajski artysta, który osiągnął sukces w tak prestiżowym konkursie na Jamajce.

Ten sukces otworzył drzwi dla Qshana wiele do świata muzycznego. W Rochester w stanie Nowy Jork występował z Beresem Hammondem i Wayne Wonderem podczas ich trasy po USA. Qshan Deya występował także na RWIFO Carifesta w sierpniu 2011 r., także w Rochester w stanie Nowy Jork.

„Volcano Trumpet” pojawił się także na Reggae Rhythm and Blues show, który odbył się w Queens NY w Roy Wilkins Park we wrześniu 2011 roku, wśród gwiazd takich jak Baby Face, Monica, Machel Montano HD, Tarrus Riley, Mavado, I- Octane, Leroy Sibbles i inni.

Qshan Deya został bardzo dobrze przyjęty na zachodnim wybrzeżu podczas trasy promującej album wiosną 2013 roku na kilku koncertach w Kalifornii wraz z takimi gwiazdami, jak Warrior King, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica i Luciano. Nagrywał z wieloma znanymi artystami, jak Akae Beka

W czerwcu 2012 roku Qshan Deya wydał cyfrowo długo oczekiwany debiutancki album z 17 utworami „ Love Govern Us All ”z udziałem Tony’ego Rebela, Half Pinta, Lady G i innych. Promował swój album na całym świecie, wraz z Luciano, U-Roy & Capletonem, a następnie „Live and Learn” na Queen Majesty Riddim z udziałem Sizzli, George’a Nooksa i Lutana Fyaha.

Kolejnym świetnym wydawnictwem jest „Victim of the System” wyprodukowanym w Niemczech wraz z Juniorem Kelly, Natural Black & Conrad Crystal.

QSHAN DEYA’ (Jah Humble Servant) the “VOLCANO TRUMPET”

Jah humble servant Qshan Deya’ born Kellis Quashie of Sugar Hill, Union Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines… His professional career began in 1999 in Brooklyn, New York, where he recorded his first single titled “Journey”. In 2001, his debut album “Journey” was also released. The acclaimed album featured Yami Bolo and Richie Spice. Qshan later embarked on a US Tour with the Star Trail Family where he opened for Anthony B.

Poised as a force to be reckoned with, his compelling lyrical content and stage presence easily commands an audience. His vocal range allows him to touch the high pitches of Al Green and the deep baritones of Barry White. He has often been compared with Dennis Brown, Luciano and Peter Tosh.

Qshan Deya’ visited Jamaica for the first time on July 23rd, 2002, where he got the opportunity to meet with renown producer Bobby Digital resulting in his first lovers rock hit “Show Me The Love” that made number 1 in New York 2003 on the WLIB 1190 AM Caribbean radio station.

Driven with a passion to excel in his craft, Qshan Deya’ made an informed decision to trod to the Island of Jamaica again in 2010 to absorb from the sources at the root of the Reggae Music Industry. While there, he met with established music producer Garfield “Sampalue” Phillips of Diamond Rush Productions who was instrumental to the foundation and development of the career of Marion “Lady Saw” Hall as her manager and producer. Qshan Deya’ and Sampalue developed an instant camaraderie with music being the driving force. It took no time for them to get into the recording studio where ideas were forged to produce tracks. A mutual friendship was also established which saw Qshan Deya’ being the newest artiste signed with Diamond Rush Productions.

Qshan Deya’ was given the opportunity to perform on Pepsi Rebel Salute 2011. His performance piqued the interest of media professionals and patrons alike. His commanding stage presence kept the patrons engaged especially his resonating voice and his lyrical onslaught on topics relating to life issues and society. This opened up the doors for him to be part of the 2011 RE/Coke Zero School Tour held in Jamaica every year among the celebrating acts in reggae, enlightening the youngsters about pro-social messages like “Abstinence” and “It’s Never Too Late to Pull it Up”.

Qshan Deya’ participated in the 2011 JCDC festival/popular song competition in Kingston, Jamaica, for the first time ever making both semi-finals and finals and finishing in second place making history to be the first ever OECS (Organization of Eastern Caribbean States) and non-Jamaican artiste to have ever entered in such prestigious competition in Jamaica and get such warm and welcoming response bridging the gap between the two region.

This opened many doors for Qshan Deya’ including the sold out show in Rochester, NY, where he performed with Beres Hammond and Wayne Wonder on their US Tour. Qshan Deya’ also performed at the RWIFO Carifesta held in August 2011, also in Rochester, NY. The “Volcano Trumpet” QD also made a stunning appearance at Reggae Rhythm and Blues show held in Queens NY at the Roy Wilkins Park in September, 2011, among stars like Baby Face, Monica, Machel Montano HD, Tarrus Riley, Mavado, I-Octane, Leroy Sibbles and more. Qshan Deya’ was very well received in the West coast during his album promotion tour in Spring 2013 at the several shows in California alongside Warrior King, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica and Luciano.

In June 2012, Qshan Deya’ had digitally released his long-awaited 17-track debut album ”Love Govern Us All” featuring the likes of Tony Rebel, Half Pint, Lady G and more. He promoted his album globally, touching places like USA, UK, CANADA and more. Most popular releases include “Disappointment” on Bobo Thing Riddim alongside Luciano, U-Roy & Capleton, followed by “Live and Learn” on Queen Majesty Riddim featuring Sizzla, George Nooks & Lutan Fyah. Another great release is “Victim of the System” on Naya Drama Riddim produced in Germany alongside Junior Kelly, Natural Black & Conrad Crystal, plus the hit song released by Qshan Deya’ is “State of Emergency” on Who Can’t Hear Must Feel Riddim compilation, alongside artists like Everton Blender, Jah Bouks, Richie Spice and Luciano, produced in Kingston, Jamaica. He also graced the stage in Indiana @ South Bend Vegetable Buddies 2019 and Chicago @ the Wild Hire alongside the Anthem Reggae Band outta Connecticut where he left fans wanting more of the Volcano Trumpet vocals, requesting his return in 2020. Qshan’s performance in Brixton, London Feb 2014 at his “Love Govern Us All” album launch was a huge success and he is presently back in the UK in 2019 again making his presence felt especially touching stage with one of Reggae’s greats Lutan Fyah at his Earth Strong celebration @Fox Fire, East London December 2019 turning it up leaving his fans in the UK craving more. Qshan Deya’ recently performed @ The Grow in Hackney on February 3rd 2020 alongside the Dub House Band paying tribute to the Crown Prince of Reggae and was well received. Qshan Deya’ is starting a mini UK/Europe/Africa tour in 2020 and currently taking bookings. His EP Launch is set for March 19th 2020 @ the famous Brixton Hootananny.

Qshan’s unique gift as a vocalist exemplifies a man blessed by the Almighty JAH RasTafari not only for his high value of spirituality and family, but also his undeniable faith as a SIMEON (tribe) to achieve.
